COSMIC TREE
Keeper of the Living Bridge
This artwork emerged from a vision of a tree connecting earth and cosmos — roots anchored deeply below, branches extending into star-filled space. The image arrived first as an inner scene and was later explored through preliminary drawing before taking its final form in paint.
The tree stands as a meeting point rather than a symbol to be decoded. Its roots press into soil and water, while its crown opens toward constellations, moonlight, and open sky. Natural and cosmic elements coexist within a single structure: bark and leaf, flowing water, night sky, and distant stars held together without hierarchy.
Details reveal themselves gradually. Light strikes the upper crown of the tree, concentrating around the head and branching downward through trunk and roots, suggesting a moment of clarity or knowledge passing through the form. The surface shifts between stillness and motion — cascades of water, dense foliage, and open space — allowing the eye to move freely through the image.
Watercolor and gouache were layered slowly, balancing softness with structure. The focus remained on cohesion rather than contrast, letting the work hold grounding and expansion at once. The painting does not direct interpretation; it simply holds the space where earth and sky meet.
