Eindejaarstentoonstelling
Begijnhof Hasselt
Graduation — Begijnhof Hasselt
27 June – 4 July 1998
(Group exhibition)
Theme: Time
This exhibition marked the completion of my formal art studies and was presented as part of the annual graduation exhibitions of the Department of Fine Arts, Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg.
The historic Begijnhof in Hasselt temporarily became a space for contemporary artistic dialogue, bringing together graduating students from different disciplines, including painting, sculpture, graphic arts, multimedia, ceramics, glass, and jewelry.
My contribution to this exhibition centered on the theme of Time. The works explored time not as a linear sequence, but as an experienced and layered presence — shaped by memory, erosion, and duration. Positioned at the threshold between study and independent practice, the pieces reflect a moment of transition where past formation and future direction briefly coexist.
This graduation exhibition represented both an ending and a beginning: the closing of a structured educational phase and the opening of a personal artistic path shaped by reflection, intuition, and transformation over time.
Archival materials such as invitations and exhibition documentation are included here to preserve the historical context of the exhibition and its place within my artistic development.
Selected works and archival documents from the 1998 graduation exhibition.
