SANCTUARY of the ROOTBORN

Beneath the Veil of Ancient Trees

This artwork was created as part of the visual world for the novel Earth Allies. It depicts a hidden sanctuary inhabited by forest fairies — a place woven into the roots of ancient trees, where dwelling and landscape grow as one.

Luminous mushrooms rise from tangled roots, their caps softly aglow. Waterfalls descend in thin, silken streams, threading light, mist, and movement through the scene. The sanctuary feels protected and inward-turned, shaped less by architecture than by natural rhythms — growth, flow, and quiet continuity.

The image reflects a world where life unfolds beneath the surface: roots reaching deep, water moving unseen, fungi bridging above and below. It is a place of shelter and belonging, embedded in the living network of the forest rather than separate from it.

Role in the Story.

This piece serves as a visual interpretation of the environments where the fairy beings live — spaces shaped by cooperation, care, and interconnection within the natural world.
