THE LISTENING FRAME
This piece forms a living threshold rather than an image to be entered visually. Flowers, insects, water, and small creatures gather around an open center, not as decoration, but as witnesses. The absence at the heart of the frame is intentional — a quiet invitation rather than an omission.
Each ally appears as it is: the dragonfly at the water’s edge, the frog resting near reeds, butterflies and beetles moving through flowering growth. Air, water, and earth meet gently, without hierarchy. Nothing dominates; everything listens.
This work was created as a space for reflection and response. The open center is meant to receive words, drawings, or simply presence. It reminds us that connection with nature does not begin with speaking, but with making room.
Earth Allies — The Listening Frame honors the idea that nature meets us halfway when we slow down enough to be met.
Created as a visual threshold for the book Earth Allies, The Listening Frame holds words in quiet attention, allowing story and image to breathe together.
